Hello folks, just thought I would introduce myself. Purchased a used 27' above ground pool at the beginning of the summer and finally have it up and running. First swim was this past weekend. Fortunately we generally have a pretty extended swim season here in the south... I'm a consummate do it your selfer, so this site is the perfect resource for me as a try for the first time to actually correctly maintain a pool. We've had a small steel wall pool in the past and a 20' Intex that I upgraded with an actual skimmer and sand filter, but they've always ended up with less than stellar water. A quick Pool School lesson here and it became clear why. I currently have stable chem numbers and feel quite confident going forward.

Here is a quick pic of my DIY install...everything from leveling(cut down over 3' with a single furrow plow and a box blade) to electrical(pulled 200ft of THHN through conduit). Not perfect, but I'm pretty proud of the result thusfar. Next step will be an equally massive deck undertaking... Anyway, hopefully I'll never need to make a post for help, but I know there is plenty of good guidance to be found here.
