I'm adding a heat exchanger to my system and need some advice. The heat exchanger is 60' away from my filter. I need to run a feed from the filter and return to the gas heater. Both will be approx 60' long so total of 120' there and back. Pump is 3/4 hp. The heat exchanger has 1 1/2" sized connection ports. My initial thought was to run 2" feed then use a reducer to connect to the heat exchanger and do the same on the return side.
My question is will there be any benefit to use 2" plumbing lines which need to be reduced at the heat exchanger versus just using 1 1/2" lines instead?
Thanks for your help.
