I’ve been having some issues with my OmniHub. A couple of times each summer, the pump shuts off by itself. Everything was running fine until yesterday.
I shut down to backwash and found the pump basket packed full of leaves. After emptying it, I restarted the pump. This morning, I noticed the pump had shut off overnight. I restarted it via the app, but it turned off again after work. We had a quick thunderstorm, and the app said the pump was running, but it wasn’t. I tried turning it on from the LCD screen with no luck. I turned off the breaker and waited 15 minutes as per Hayward’s instructions, but still no luck.
Tonight, I took off the cover and checked the voltage at the controller and motor (235v). I ended up disconnecting the OmniHub control wires, reconnecting the display for the pump, flipping the dip switches, and got it going. The pump runs fine now. I set the heater and AquaRite to manual modes so they would operate.
However, there’s an LED flashing on the control board of the OmniHub. It’s dirty, but I didn’t see any obvious signs of lightning damage. I was more focused on getting the water moving for the weekend festivities. Any suggestions on what I could check? I have a diagram showing the voltages at each connector I need to check, but I feel like this might be a control board issue. No wires were chewed or anything. It wouldn’t turn back on after I hit the breaker.
