Most annoying pool insect…

Just curious what everybody’s most annoying pool insect is. Mine is HANDS DOWN the “Winged” Ant. These things are rediculous. Several times during the swimmer it’s Winged Ant season and they come in swarms! I can pull them out with the net but they just keep coming! I call them the Kamikaze Ants as I can visibly see them flying straight down slamming into the water!
Anybody know how to control these things? I saw a post a king time ago about somebody purring a tennis ball in the water and the ants congregate to it. I could never get that to work.

Probably mine as well, although my wife will say the wasps are #1 since they fill-up on water before they go back to their nest. The ants, although seasonal 2- 3 times a year, are a pain. Thankfully I haven't had too many Boatman bugs this year. Scorpions just sink. Ha.
 
I’ve been using SKILL-IT with great success at keeping the wasps away. Not sure if it would deter the ants at all. Works well on wasps because it kills the stupid ones and the remaining few that do manage not to drown learn that my pool water is not a good source and they go looking elsewhere. Being social insects, that info gets communicated to the other wasps and they generally learn to avoid my pool … that and the “Neighbor's Pool is Full of Honey!! 👉” sign seems to work ….

Do you put the Skill It IN THE POOL WATER?? Or just around the pool?
