Hello, I live in Austin and a 1st time pool owner. We just moved to this home. We use the iAqualink app and a professional pool tech came out to set up the system (picture attached of the system). Its a pretty cool, high end system but with a lot of moving parts. I have the ability to monitor my water usage to the "hour". I noticed yesterday for 1/18 that I lost ~143 gallons of water/hour for 7 hours for a total of around 1040 gallons which I thought was just ridiculous. We also have a malfunctioning toilet flapper that I neglected to turn off. This is equivalent to the toilet being open and just Running all the time for 7 hours. This loss equates to about 2.4 gallons of water lost per minute which the plumber said is normal if toilet was indeed the issue. So I am trying to rule out if the pool was the culprit or if toilet was the root cause. I have turned off the yellow levers at the yard which is the irrigation. Pool tech informed that if irragation is off, there is no way auto-fill can work. Our auto fill is similar to the toilet flush system.

I would say monitor it again today. If there was anything wrong on the pool side, you should see some water loss at the pool. If you're not losing water at the pool, I suspect that toilet was the issue. But let us know if things change today or you have more questions.

Welcome to TFP!

Thanks so much, but if the irrigation valves are completely off can the auto-fill still be active. Picture of my autofill is attached.
