Hello all,

First post here and new to pools. So I've started to buy the 12% bleach from the pool stores in 10L containers and I'm noticing that it is quite messy to work with. Very hard to pour without splashing. My pool isn't huge and sometimes it only requires a half litre of bleach so I pour into a container that I can measure more accurately from. This was never a problem with regular bleach bottles, but these large carboys from the pool store are different. So I had a thought today how the container hole is similar size to my blue 20L Reliance Aqua Pak water jugs that come with a white plastic spout. Unfortunately the size didn't match up but I'm hoping that someone else out there has tried this already and knows of a product that would work for this? I think a screw on tap would be an ideal solution. I've thought about using a turkey baster or a siphon but a tap would really be the easiest. If I can't get a tap would there be any issue simply using the blue water jug as my new bleach container? ie. would the pool store be willing to fill that up for me? Or is there some regulation against that?

They do sell faucets for carboys
On usplastic.com as others here have mentioned it. You’d need to measure to be sure of sizing.
I currently pour into a 1 gallon pitcher that i have marks on as its easier to handle- i was already using it for other pool things like rinsing stuff.
There’s no real issue of using the blue container so long as you mark it for safety purposes & it’s not transparent (sun degrades chlorine) also be aware the chlorine may degrade the container.
I doubt your supplier would fill that container though so you would just be handling the lc more.
