Light Grout- Good idea or no?

Hi all! I am doing a remodel on my pool in Houston and have chosen 1x1 tiles. In my head, I always assumed I would go with white grout. When I said white (bone to be exact) to the builder and his crew, they all looked at me pretty much horrified and told me it would look beautiful for a few months only before becoming dingy. He did tell me that I could clean it up with Muratic acid, but it seems like it will be very high maintenance, which has me worried. Does anyone have any words of advice? Should I be safe and just do the canvas color shown and pray I love it? (The second pic has the lighter color I really want beside it for comparison.) Kimkat, I tagged you because I’ve seen your comments on many posts and you seem to be a go to person on all things design 😁 Hope that’s ok!!

Do what you want.. If it does fade a little it will be fine.. The white will show mistakes easily and that is why they do not want to use it.. It has nothing to do with fading :)

Look at epoxy grout - similar to this:

Many colors to choose from and you can add "bling" to it as well - with shimmer packs.

We used the Nero Carbonio color (black) with out dark blue tiles. Should not fade.
