I joined this group 8-7-19, claiming that as a 17 year pool owner, I had a pretty good handle on my chemistry, After reading through the basics, I realized that I had forgotten some important basics. Firstly, dumping a heavy dose of chlorine in one day, won't cure an algae problem. I had been having erratic green spots every few days, with a light "dust" on the sides. The water seemed clear, but not great. I did the SLAM treatment, following the instructions very carefully. Now about 5 days after finishing the SLAM, my pool is crystal clear, and I'm letting the FC drop back down. Thanks to the forum to help an old guy get his SLAM together. I'll be reading a lot here.
