I admit it - I don’t have a large buffer of PoP. Especially not when my best option, testing-wise, is “dump-and-pray”, so I can’t see the small improvements in my results.
I was sure that my pump would not grab the small bits of cloudiness and throw them right back in - because it cannot take THAT long to clear a cloudy pool.
I hooked a knee-high to the suction-side and it grabbed a lot of white stuff.
So I put the sock on the outlet instead - clean as a whistle……… well, maybe the pump is actually doing its job
And, lo and behold, the next day the water was 95% clear.
No white stuff, nothing poofing up while brushing………
So - I DID IT!!!!!
I know D&P is not good tfp-manner. But I used the knowledge from here, with also looking at the cya - and that I could dilute my water to test it with my dpd-tablets.
And NO chemicals other than LC has touched the water this year.
If it was not for tfp, I could well have turned to flock and algaecides - maybe even drain and refill.
Instead I have read “give it time”. “It takes longer with an agp and sandfilter”. “Take pictures to check the daily progress”. And it worked
