How to get rid of the delay when switching from spa to pool mode

I have the Jandy epump with the Aqualink RS controller. When I switch it from pool mode to spa mode, it goes instantly. However when I try to either switch from spa mode to pool mode, or turn the filter pump off while in spa mode, the controller starts flashing ***'s and says the pump will turn off (or switch over) after delay. The delay seems to be some random amount of time between 5-15 minutes.

I can't see any purpose in this delay. Does anyone know why this delay exists? If it can switch from pool to spa instantly, it should be able to switch back instantly. Is there any way to eliminate or significantly reduce the delay?

Something to give extra cool down time for the spa heater, I would imagine. I would bet the delay correlates to how recently the heater was on.

Heater cool down delay, especially on automation that takes the heater out of the water path when switching back to Pool.
