Hints on Sand Filter

Hi and Happy Summer! New/used 2022 Intex pool came with Krystal Clear SX1500 sand filter pump. Prior pump was cartridge filter, and I was just getting comfortable with it. Any advice or suggestions (like stuff not listed in owners manual) you may have on use, cleaning, what to look for, etc. would be much appreciated. Thanks!
PS. I did read the thread on Sand FIlter. Where would one buy Pool grade DE?????

Sand it pretty simple. Backwash your filter. Note clean pressure. When the pressure rises 25% then it is time to backwash again. Don't use any of these chemicals:

Why do you want to add DE to a perfectly good filter? If you decide to do it, you can order it online for about 30-40$. DO NOT BUY FOOD GRADE, buy pool DE. Some big boxes carry it, but usually only in areas that have a high number of pool that stay open all year. Finally, (I'm not going to say it am I'm I??? Don't say it PoolStored, don't)...the pool store (I'm going to have nightmares tonight). Seriously, I have DE and bought it at the pool store. I also buy CaCL at the pool store because the purity is worth the extra 10$. Use these chemicals (links) if you can't find good stuff in the big box, pool store is fine.

How often should the filter be backwashed? It is currently in the “green“ zone for pressure.
I read about adding DE, now I can’t remember the reason. So I wont add any
