Hey Folks,

We have been testing our water weekly, and recently noticed that the Ph was creeping higher, the Taylor test shows its above 8 so I got it tested at a pool store and they said its 8.2.

We are working on lowering the Ph and noticed that the Taylor kit is showing Free Chlorine of 8.4which seems extremely high. The pool has a SWG and I have it set at 30%, with all the rain recently we haven't even ran the Pump that much maybe 4 hours a day.

Any idea what could be causing a drastic increase in chlorine? Should add salt level is around 3900.

Could be that the cloud cover has lowered UV so much that FC loss is down. We have been experiencing similar things the last few days.

Thats what I was thinking but we just had 3 days of sun and then I reduced the pH level and it's now showing 7.4 but the Chlorine has jumped to 10.
I have turned the SWG off for now, CYA seems to at ~60 so not sure why the chlorine isn't breaking down.
