Our pool is an in ground 10ft deep, approximately 28 K gallons. It has a slide and waterfall feature. Had our pool deck resurfaced, new copping put down this year. Installed a new Waterways Plastic..... Jacuzzi JD48 D.E. filter, from Leslies, and had it installed by a local company. The filter motor is a 2 hp Centurion.

Anyone out there versed in D.E. Filters? We got issues we can't resolve. The pump's new pressure gauge (it's been replaced once) runs 20 to 23 lbs high after a backwash and cleaning....then ramps up to 30 lbs (just like the old one). The bottom half of the filter container blew apart 6 months ago. It's been replaced. I don't know what to do - I'm open to suggestions.

High pressure in the filter implies 1 or 2 things. The grids in the filter are clogged or a valve or something downstream of the filter is partial closed causing backpressure to the system.

How did you clean your filter grids? See link below

When you backwash, how much DE do you add? You are only to add 80% of the recommended amount. So if it states 6 lbs then only add 4.8 lbs after a backwash. if you tear down the filter and completely clean the filter then add the recommended amount of 6lbs (example only).

How did the bottom part of the filter blow out? The lower section has the inlet and outlet pipes connected to it.
Post some pictures.
