Great forum and people here - thanks already for what I've found and learned and some help already in a thread or two. First - the "Far North Dallas" - if you aren't from here - there is Dallas, then North Dallas and then Far North Dallas - then you finally get to Plano. It just helps to know what part of the metro I'm in. Built a pool last year - info in signature.
I do wish I'd found this place and done a little more research before building. I would have likely made a few more design decisions and been harder on my builder or gotten more quotes. Very happy with the pool build - it's very solid and love the plaster and equipment - I think the biggest problem I ran into was the day before we were supposed to dig in April 2015, rain began. The PB didn't start a dig for the next 30 days we had so much rain, so literally they were so backed up I don't think I got the attention I should have as they got too many pools going on at once after that and my PM from the PB was fairly new to the company. There were also some problems in that I trusted them a bit too much and didn't get exact dimensions on some of my drawings. Overall I'd say 7 out of 10 happy.
The past 2 months started having a little algae problem, checked the CYA and it was up to 110. Started researching and found TFP. I drained, but not enough, drained again, I'm down to CYA about 20 or so now. Other readings are pretty good, started with straight Chlorine about 10 days ago. Using the Acid and Baking Soda and Calcium Chloride to get the other readings back in line as well.
Thanks for all the information and having a great site. I've got a few challenges I'll continue to research and or ask for help on here over the winter months.
