Welcome and congrats and congrats!
My advice (about 8 months in and really feeling in control on my pool) is to commit to this technique. Reading these forums and also from my own experience, the successful ones are who really buy in and don’t half-(way) it by being here but also pool store testing and using all the non recommended chemicals.
Get one of the recommended test kits and use it regularly and correctly. Read the in depth articles about how to test right (and honestly skim the whole Wiki so you know what’s there in case you don’t know what to look for when you don’t know you need it)
Pay the (remarkably small) fee for the full Pool Math app and really understand its power. Connect your results to the forum so we (and my we I mean they, the experts) can see it to help you.
Really commit everything in Pool School to memory, and more important understanding the why behind what is said.
Make yourself a schedule / reminders to do the tests and maintenance needed and try to see them an enjoyable rather than a task. Put on some music, have a beverage, enjoy having something in your life where you are as close to as fully in control as possible.
Ask for help when you need it. The folks here are immensely helpful and knowledgeable.
Enjoy your TFP clear pool and every laugh and smile and splash you and whoever is swimming there!!! Welcome!!!
