Heading the TFPC method and a conflict

So I have come to the first divergence in the data. As I prep for the testing and balancing of the chemicals - I ran into this.. dilemma.

the TFPC method states (taken from the Water Balance for SWG's)

FC 4-6 ppm
PH 7.2-7.8
TA 60-80
CH 50-300 for vinyl (Do Not Add)
CYA 70-80
Salt 200-400 ppm ABOVE recommended optimum level
Borates 30-50 ppm (optional)

While most of these differ somewhat from what is below the most concerning is the Salt, the link above says "most" recommend range is 3000-3200ppm, from the details in the picture below the SWCG that I have recommends 3500 - 4500ppm. I surmise that the TFPC is a specific balance of proven practices that hence provides some deviations from what "manufacturers" recommend and what practicality actually prove. But the level if I heed the TFPC method for Salt would be some where between 3900 - 4900ppm Salt..

Should I be maintaining in range of the SWCG as it is already at the modified levels (3500 - 4500ppm) mentioned in the Water Balance guide - or should I modify above what is listed on the SWCG and be @ 3900 - 4900ppm Salt?

Most of us initially shoot for mid-range initially per the manufacturers suggestion. Once up and running, I only add a bag or two (I have a large pool) when I get a low salt reading. I also confirm the low salt level with my independent salt test reagents just to make sure nothing is out of whack.

Make sure that the SWG is turned off when adding salt to the pool. Wait for the salt to dissolve before you turn the SWG back on.
