I changed my sand in the filter and now I have a small leak where the head attaches with the clamp. I replaced the o-ring and then applied silicon lube on the o-ring. Still leaking the same amount. I also tried tapping with a rubber mallet to try to seat the unit securely. Still no luck.
Now I am thinking that possibly the center pipe is a little too high after changing the sand. The filter is working perfectly except for the small leak. Water is clean and clear.

Question:
Can I trim a very small amount off of the top of the center pipe? 1/8 " should be more that enough.... Or should I leave it alone.

Just don't like the leak..

Thanks
Don

A similar thing happened to me when i changed my sand. Slow leak, about a drop every few seconds.

Honestly, I just ignored it and it resolved itself. Maybe wait a few days and see, as long as it isn't too bad.
