Hayward heat pump temp cutoff/on

I set my Hayward heat pump to 81.2f and it’s still running at 82.8f. Do these heat pumps go a few degrees over to stop short cycling. I’m assuming it will cut off at 3f higher and then when it drops back down to 81.2F it will turn back on. Not sure if this is the case or not.
