Long time since I have posted but I have been a very active reader : ) Thanks for all the knowledge and advice, ya’ll have kept my head above water.
I am going to hard pipe my pool, and I have read a lot of the forums here and looked at a lot of pictures. One of the first things I’m going to do is turn my pump and filter around so the skimmer is on the same side as the outflow of the pump and the water coming out of the filter going back into the pool is in front of the intake valve. I plan on using high-pressure 90° sweeps, unions and shut off valves. The water is going to come out of my skimmer, go down to the ground and over to the pump. The water is going to come out of the filter, there will be a 90° sweep and it will go down to the ground over to the pool and with another 90° sweep up to the return jet. I would like to add a Y or T before the water gets back to the return jet so that I can add one of those cool little pool sprinklers. Several questions….should I keep the pipe from pump to filter flexible PVC to help eliminate vibration? Pros/Cons on 1 1/2” vs 2”? What is that interesting little gray valve at the top of the hose before it goes into the pool for the return jet. I would appreciate any ideas, suggestions and help as I have never done anything like this. I have included pictures of the sprinkler, my pump/filter set up and with it installed now…yes the purple duct tape is where the hose blew and what motivated this adventure : )
