Freeze Prevention

I have unique situation and I’m hoping to get some advice. In the picture, all three of the larger pipes go to a waterfall. The previous homeowners must of not cleared the water out of these pipes before freezing. 2/3 of these pipes, when I opened the valves this summer and the pool started losing water rapidly. I was not able to get to doing the repair as I’m sure it will require lots of digging to find the leak. It will be a 2025 project.

The two smaller pipes go to a water feature. I am not sure if they are busted underground and one of the waterfall pipes is not leaking. For this winter, I want to clear them out to make sure that future freezing does not cause further damage.

Is it possible to take the valve off by unscrewing the screws on the face and suck water out with a shop vac or potentially blow them out?

I just don’t want to have more damage.

For the rest of the pools plumbing, I am just going to keep water flowing over freezes.

You can try to pull water, but pushing water forward may yield better results. Depends on the device you are using. For the 3-way valves, you certainly can loosen the 8 screws and remove each handle assy. For the ball valves, a little trickier I believe, but those can be removed as well. There are YouTube videos on those.
