floater stuck by the skimmer

i can't use my inline chlorinator due to switching to swg and i want to use up some trichlor pucks (yes, i'm aware of CYA) .

i got a floater since i don't want to use it in the skimmer, but the Dang floater floats around and ends up by the skimmer anyway. which defeats the whole purpose. is that everyone else's experience as well?

on the good news, i have a good surface water circulation i guess

Its not a big deal to be “near” the skimmer. Its only an issue in the skimmer if the pump shuts off and continues to dissolve there.

thanks., i guess if it floats away after pump is off then it's ok. pucks in the skimmer are ok when pump is running too, but they for sure won't float away when pump is off.

Just posted in another thread, but I tie my floater via string to an umbrella base at/near a return. No issues and very easy to get out after vacation is over...
