First pool closing. Not sure what this line is or if I plug it? and newbie questions

Hi all,

So this is my first year with a pool and this will be my first closing. I am planning to lower the water level below the return lines and blow them out tomorrow. My problem is there is an unknown line in the pool. I have no idea where it goes or what it is for? I am attaching some pictures here and hoping someone can help me figure this out. I don't know how I can blow and plug that line if I don't know where it goes... I really appreciate any help thanks!

There is one return line to the pool on the right side the shallow end, a skimmer in the middle, and an intake on the left side the deep end I circled them all in this picture. In the middle there a few feet under the skimmer there is a big fat pvc piece.





Here is a picture of the mystery line. Its pretty large and I have no idea what its for. There is one piece of pvc pipe near the pad that comes up out of the ground which is not hooked to anything. However I don't think it goes to this as I tried blowing some air through it with my shop vac and did not notice any bubbles from this guy.




finally the other question I had is my skimmer has two hole in it. As far as I am aware though I only have two lines that feed into the pump. Why are there two lines here are they connected or separate? I am going to try and clear them both and put some anti freeze in them but wondering why it has two holes.





Here is a picture of my pad. I have the two lines coming into the pump one from the deep end one from the skimmer. Only one line returning to the pool.



Last but not least both my intake and return line on the side of the pool look like this. Do I need to screw this cap off or can I just stick the plug in there and tighten it up when I am ready? It does not have one of the eye balls in there it just looks like a ring screwed on.

That is a very bizarre line, looks like a 1408 wall fitting, was installed backwards.. given its placement likely a dedicated cleaner line that's not in service??

I wish I knew its definitely big enough to stick a vacuum hose on but who knows where it goes lol. What do I do with that thing just leave it? I can't blow it out if I don't know where the other end is

My skimmer has to holes, but only one being used. Second hole is capped. Check to see if there in suction in both.
yes it must be a suction line that close to the skimmer, shouldn’t be a return.

Try the black pipe riser with white cap by your equipment.

Ok so it turns out it is that black pipe by my pad. Blew some air through it to check. So now that I found the other end does anyone know what the heck this is for ?

For a pressure side cleaner- but that backwards wall fitting is wacky/unacceptable did you recently have that installed?

No its my first year in the house bought it in March. I am finding a lot of things done incorrectly as I go. I recently had to cutt open the stairs and repack a tread that wasn't filled properly too. So just so I understand this the fitting is for hooking up a cleaner like one of those polaris cleaners? What hooks to the black pipe?

In theory but it's not usable with the wacky install.. even if it were my pool , I'd plug it & forget about it.
