Finally got an open hole! (then comes the monsoons...)

With all the help from TFP, we finally pulled the trigger. Dig day is done! Been raining ever since!
Have a few partial collapsed spots, and about a foot of water, but as to be expected with over 12" rainfall in 24 hrs.
Delayed for the next week or so. Just wanted to say thanks to all, and will update with progress pics!

I feel for you. The same thing happened when I built mine. Just after I got the hole but the rain started and it kicked my but all summer. Pretty stressful then but now it's Just a great story... keep smiling

Same thing happened to me with my fiberglass pool, there are pics in my thread. If you go to Lowe’s or HD and buy an inexpensive pump you can minimize the damage. At least that’s what I did. It’ll all work out.

UPDATE:
They pumped out the rainwater yesterday and added some lime.....and we now have rebar!
Plumbing tomorrow, Gunite Friday, and MORE RAIN SATURDAY THROUGHOUT THE WEEK! (which is good help watering the gunite)

WOW! That’s close to the house! any concern Re the gutter being that close?

Household, they will trench and put 4" pvc drain for that downspout once concrete deck is formed up (before they pour).

Anyone else have this bright yellow (and oily) groundwater seep up through their gunite shell? Assume it's just the soil's constituent minerals leaching out...?

Jeez the long plumb is a bigger mess than the dig day! There are trenches and pvc everywhere! My favorite is the mini-Ex operator cantilevered on the bond beam while straddling the skimmer!

Thanks! Sorry, just now saw this. It is called 1x1 Cobblestone Ocean (SNT-132) by Noble Tile out of Houston TX
It was one of the level 1 choices that came with our base contract, no upgrade

enjoying the look of it for sure! but I'm trying to balance the water during this start-up period and so we haven't been swimming...kids are just pressed to the glass with huge frowns on their faces!
