Need to add some drop down privacy shades to our pool screen enclosure. Have some Coolaroos now but would like something more breathable to handle higher winds and not have to roll them up in a storm. What other options might there be?

Can u just secure the coolaroo shades to your screen enclosure at the bottom/sides at various places with the coolaroo butterfly clips & some small caribiner clips To keep it more taught during the winds? Similar to how you would secure the bottom of a blind to a door.

Doing more butterfly clips AND cutting downward facing semi-circles roughly 4" in diameter would assist with the breathability if you wanted to try it. That's how banners across streets survive winds - by allowing the wind to go through. But another option may be a different implementation of a sunshade, the kind typically triangular in shape and seen mounted horizontally. They are mounted very tight and can take the wind you may be thinking of. But again, those are designed to be horizontal and so they stay out of the wind gathering business to a large degree.

I think what you are looking for is more of a solid surface wall of some sort in order to withstand the wind. You are fighting physics here trying to leave something down in a storm.

Don't want solid for sure. Drove in back of walmart the other day...employees had outdoor lounge fenced in with some sort of mesh screening...looked quite breathable and i could barely see the employees at there tables.
