Hello - It is time to drain and refill my pool due to high calcium hardness (my test kit is putting it at 1500). I decided to get the pool acid washed since it needs to be drained anyway (plastered 6 years ago). I live in the desert so I know I need to wait until the weather cools down in the Fall, but what other things to I need to look out for in a drain, acid wash, and refill situation? Thank you.

It’s a good time to have the filter torn down and washed, deck-o-seal inspected for open cracks and possibly have the tile cleaned while the pool is empty.
Is there a specific reason you are acid washing it? That reduces the life of the plaster and so you’d only want to do it for specific defects in the finish.
