Due to health reasons we were not able to open our in ground 18000 gal. pool last yearr. We have now got the go ahead to swim from the doctor. I have my numbers for opening yearly but it has been 2 seasons. Should I double my chlorine numbers or add withthe numberes suggested by the chart??

Joe, we are assuming you have a green mess on your hands correct? If you are preparing to start a SLAM Process, don't try to double any dosage amounts. Follow the FC/CYA Levels to find your applicable FC (SLAM) level based on your current CYA. For example, if your CYA is 30, then your FC (SLAM) level would be 12.

You're going to have a battle on your hands. No matter how bad it is, we've seen way worse, so there is that if it helps. 
Do you have a good drain path and cheap fill water ? With vinyl you can drain down to a foot in the shallow end (paying attention for shifting at 18 inches just to play it safe).
While the water level is low, it's easier to scoop the crud off the bottom. The crud will eat any FC you add, almost as fast as you add it. It needs to go ASAP.
