I have a Dolphin S300 robot that is now six years old. It has had some repairs done in the past.

Yesterday it started giving me trouble. It would run for about 10 seconds, do a wheelie and then stop. The blue light would turn off. When I connect via Bluetooth it has shown me three different errors after unplugging and trying again.

There errors are: "DC in voltage 23V"," Impeller 1 Driver failure", and "CF_ImpellerNoCurrent_1".

Anyone have any ideas on what to do or should I just take it to my pool shop? How long do these typically last? Should I be buying a new cleaner?

The motor assembly is probably starting to die. 6 years is considered a good run nowadays. Replacing the motor assembly outside of warranty is too costly. Makes no sense. Just buy a new robot

Thanks, I have been following the threads on the Aiper but it isn't clear to me if they last for very long. But I think that they are much cheaper than the Dolphin. I think the Dolphins are well over $1000 in Canada.

They are pricey here too. Most expensive way to clean a pool. I gave up on robots 2 years ago. Not worth it to me. My suction side cleaner works just fine.

I have an old Kreepy Krauly that I may use for now. If the Aipers worked for at least 4-5 years then they might be an option.

Aiper, EVO, etc, etc, etc. They’re all too new to the market (< 5 years) to know if their lifetimes will be any better than Dolphin/Maytronics. Maytronics used to build quality robots that latest 10 years or more but ever since the pandemic it seems their quality, and everyone else’s, got flushed down the toilet.
