Dolphin Active 20 strange moving behavior

We were having a problem with the robot not going forward and noticed the gears to the wheels were no longer engaging, so I replaced the wheels and tracks of the robot.

Now after powering on, the robot goes through its testing phase (moving backward for about 10 seconds, then forward, followed by the impeller spinning with water visibly moving). However, after this, it continues moving backward for 10 seconds, then forward for 10 seconds, repeating this for a few minutes before stopping completely.

I’ve fully disassembled the robot to check for any obstructions in the tracks, drive motor, impeller, wheel tube, and brush assembly, but everything seems clear.

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue, and hoping its a fix that isn't replacing the motor.

Thanks

I had a similar issue as yours. Replaced all the drive gears, tracks, cable, then a week later had to replace the motor (moisture in the motor). Would only do the test cycle then shut down.
Before replacing the motor you can try running the cleaner out of the pool, on the pool deck. Is it making any funny noises? Grinding gears? Knocking? Everything moves freely without binding.

Mine was doing the same thing. Similar unit, pentair SE. I shared this info in my thread last year to share with others.

Did not want to replace or order the entire motor unit. Contacted someone on Ebay and shipped the individual motor that was not working and turn around time was quick. Brushes were very worn when I opened the motor. Did not know enough to do it myself. See if he can help you.
Also, check the inside of the gear on the motor side that runs the tracks. First time I had issues with mine it was this worn gear.
