Hi, I am going to be redoing my pool deck and connecting patio. I've talked to a few pool companies and at first they both recommended re-plumbing the pool once the old concrete/pool deck is pooled out. However, after talking some more to one of the pool companies they now recommend pressure testing the plumbing and if it passes then there's no need to re-plumb the pool. They say they changed their mind because I have PVC plumbing which is virtually indestructible. Currently the pool works fine and holds water with no leaks. The PVC pipes used for my plumbing are at least 20 years old, in fact it might even be the original plumbing used when the pool was built which I believe was 1988 when the house was built. I plan on redoing the pool deck with brick pavers if that makes any difference. What do you guys think do I need to re-plumb the pool or as long as it passes pressure testing I should be ok?
Also do I need to empty my pool to re-plumb it? 2 pool companies told me I had to empty the pool to re-plumb, or at least they wouldn't re-plumb the main drain if the pool was full, and a third company said he would still re-plumb the main drain even with a full pool. What do you guys think about re-plumbing a full pool?
thanks in advance for your comments.
