So, I backwashed my DE filter for the first time since opening and NO DE CAME OUT.
Backstory, Opened over a month ago and the DE screens were leaking. The Pool company replaced my screens about 7 days after opening. I was not there when they did it.
The pressure had not been going up much, maybe 5% in the past month. When I moved it to backwash the water was clear. I tried to rinse too and then backwash and still clear. Pool company is coming out Tuesday but said to try putting in some DE and tell me if it comes out return jets. Sure enough, I put in DE and by the time I got the 2nd pound going in, the return jets started spitting white powder out. I stopped putting in the DE. Op manager (who I know) said that it might be a broken seal (he described where it is but I was not following him).
Does this type of failure sound familar? How come my water was not getting cloudy/dirty?
