Hi Everyone. Having reviewed much of the content on this site, I think I may know the answer but wanted to gather your thoughts as well. My brand new 16k gallon pool with PebbleFina interior finish was filled less than 3 weeks ago. My levels are fairly stable, but there is virtually no FC in the water. When I test using my Taylor K-2006 kit, the sample is clear, although I can see a slightly pink tint to it when I pour the sample out from the test tube. I am using trichlor tablets (yes, I know, not recommended) in an in-line feeder and the dial is now set to its highest setting. My home faces S/SE, so my pool is in direct sun from roughly 8 AM until 7 PM. I am also running a Paramount Clear O3 Ozonator and UV combination as a secondary sanitizer (overkill and likely useless in an outdoor pool, I know. wish I found this site before committing to the setup). I assume the combination of sun and UV system is a contributor to the lack of FC, but can't imagine either or both would contribute that significantly to the overall reduction. The pool water is crystal clear and at night with the interior pool light on the surface is like glass. I was thinking it may be time to conduct an OCLT, but wanted your feedback. Below are my levels as of 630 AM this morning:
FC: 0
TC: 0
pH: 7.6
TA: 50
CH: 200
CYA: 20 (this is an approximation. the sample clouds and the black dot becomes invisible just above the 30 PPM measurement line)
Temp: 78 degrees
Any suggestions on next steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Jon
