Cover leaking?

Hi all,

Fourth year closing the pool. All went off without a hitch until I realized I was already pumping water off the cover and it hadn't rained a drop. Then I noticed the pool level looked even lower than what I left it at.

I don't see any obvious holes in the cover (traditional tarp like cover). But when I put my pump in and run it, I don't seem to make much progress, and it even appears the top water gets deeper.

I did notice that if I push down a bit on the cover, water seems to seep through, though not in all areas. I never noticed this in year's passed, but maybe it's normal...

Any thoughts or advice on how to proceed?

Yes its all to common if you try to use a short lived tarp for many seasons. The cheaper ones don't last only mere few years then it's got holes.

Time for a new one.
Getting more than 2 years out of a tarp style cover is usually pushing it.
No matter how long they claim it will last.
