Copper Green?

Pool was Initially clear before memorial day, but the salt was borderline low, and the swg went off for 2 days for low salt before I noticed. I added more salt and shocked since it turned cloudy.

The next day, this persistent green appeared. The water is as clear as it can be. There is hardly any pink on the CC test. I've been holding the FC level for 5 days now with no change

Is it possible that the salt had copper in it? I used regular water softener salt, which I have used in the past with no issues.

Reading some other threads, letting the FC drop down may actually get rid of the coloring if is copper, but not if it is algae. Anyone with a good eye have an opinion?

PH- 7.4
FC -28
CC - No color change
CYA - 70

Unless you have a reason to suspect copper (i.e. mineral-based sanitation, eroded heater core, or copper algaecides, my guess is iron not copper. Are you on a well? What's your city/state location? If it is iron, the color "might" go back to clear once the FC falls. But keep in mind if you currently (or did previously) have algae and if you didn't follow the SLAM Process precisely, you may still have algae in which case the SLAM would need to be accomplished first.

Copper causes a more blue color and rarely stains the actual water. Think the Statue of Liberty, that color.

That could be iron related, but the cloudiness certainly makes it look organic. That's an odd one. Have you cleaned the filter to see if it has filtered out any of the color?
