Confused about cya/3" tabs.

I'm trying to figure out how some people use the 3" tabs constantly, yet do not have a cya overload issue?
A co-worker says he uses 3-4 a week, with no problems. Where does all his conditioner go?
I am about to do a drain and refill , I assume due to too many pucks, I hope I am not missing something simple.???

That is often possible if you have large amounts of rain that gets pumped off and/or you have a short season where you do a large drain to winterize.

Or, they are just ignorant about their pool chemistry levels and are just lucky ... or are not telling you the full truth about additional chemicals they are adding or their fights with green pools.

Your friends and neighbors are not going to advertise that their pool is green. That is embarrassing and makes them look like they don't know what they are doing (because they probably don't)

The OP is in Orlando, so large amounts of rain is a realistic option. Also during the summer Florida pools can get really hot which does cause some CYA degradation. However, probably not enough to counter 3-4 pucks per week all year long.

Thanks, didn't make sense to me. I have a screen enclosure, so the temp seems to settle around 80-82. We haven't had any rain for 3 weeks, of course it rained today, the day before I start a drain and fill to lower the cya.
