there's backstory I don't have time to post right now, but my spa started turning green (filled with softened well water/untreated). So, started throwing in chlorine, and added some stabilizer to help it hold FC. Meanwhile, started circulating through filter. I tested my FV and it was less than 1, but when I did the CC test the water turned a muddy brown orange within 2 drops of the 003 reagent.

For grins I tried adding the next reagent, and 50 drops later, no change. I'm continuing treating, will get a full set of readings with some sunlight. I'm confident treating/slamming, but curious about feedback on the immediate brown. Reagents worked fine/normal with the pool water.

Okay after more thinking I'm wondering if my D.C. Was actually too high. I dunno. Every time before I added chlorine, I tested and Fc Was less than 1, so I would just add more. I added something like 3 gal of bleach over the day in a 800 gal. Spa, which seemed weird, but thought, whatevs!

We decided to circulate the spa and pool water together, and when I tested the pool after that, Fc was at slam level and cc was 0. So maybe the Fc was crazy high in the spa but reading weird because of it, and the cc flipped out too. Well, either way, it'll be sorted. Anyone else think the mud dark cc was because the Fc was insanely high?
