Can I use air compressor to blow out lines without plugging pool pump?

I have a new Pentair Superflo pump. On my old pump, I used to be able to connect my air compressor to the drain plugs and put a rubber plug in the hole that leads to the pump motor. However, on the Superflo, the hole leading to the motor is much larger. Do I need to plug this? Or is it okay to just leave it open? The multiport would be closed, but I'm also not sure if compressed air should be making it there. In other words, I'm not sure if putting the pump motor and multiport under air pressure is okay or not. Ideally, I would just plug the Superflo, but I don't know if there is a large enough plug for that opening.

I don't like compressors. Many aren't up to the task and those that are will only clear any 'down pipes'. Once it hits a horizontal pipes, the air will ride along the top of the pipe and leave most of it full. In my case, that's most of the run.

Plus, if there's any slight leak anywhere, the compressor loses the PSI is had going for it. It's low volume won't overcome the dropped PSI.

A large shop vac surprisingly works better, and i use my backpack leaf blower similar to a cyclone.

Today was the day for closing and it went great with a 6HP shop vac. I hooked my blower up for fun after, and there really wasn't much left but some spray. Anywho I wanted to do a write up for all the folks wondering if they could save a chunk of change and tackle their own closing...
