Wondering if it is OK to go ahead and get my winter cover off (it's totally dry today) and to start adding water to get my water level up to the mid skimmer level? Hubby will be home in about 36 hours to get the lines opened and the filter and pump ready. That's why I am asking with the wait time. I thought since a little rain was coming in tonight and in the AM that getting the cover off and filling it would speed the opening process on Sat. am. Also since I won't be able to backwash I can clean out any stray leaves and dump in a little bleach to tie me over..so, is it OK to get this cover off and get moving on before I have to drain any more rain water? Thanks!
can I start the opening process a day ahead of the opening?

I'd call your husband and make sure it's okay with him. Maybe some of the plugs are easier to reach if they're above water? I don't know -- I never close. If he's okay with it, get started. Get the cover dried and put away.
Thank you Richard! I will check with him about the plugs. We choose to close in Ohio. Never know how deep a freeze we will get. I think I will check the water temp so he doesn't freeze his arms off reaching the plugs!
