I'm new to this with an AGP/vinyl liner.
Should I be brushing all surfaces even if the look clean? The pool store didn't make any mention of it. They just said to vac the bottom.

Should I be vacuuming once per week even if the water and bottom are clear? I don't get much for leaves and gunk in the pool, and when it does happen I just grab them off the bottom while swimming.

Brush all surfaces at least once a week during your swim season. There could be a thin clear biofilm accumulating and the brushing helps to disturb it so chlorine can get in there. Vacuum when you see debris settling on the bottom that you can't scoop up. Use your good judgement. Clean/backwash your filter when the pressure gauge increases by about 25% from the clear pressure.

Some thing to consider - an automatic pool cleaner! I had the EZ Vac for 20 years and it cleaned about 90% of the pool floor when it didn't get stuck under the ladder. I would guide it for the other 10% or grab a manual vacuum and do it that way. New pool is getting the Hayward Penguin, it is also a suction side cleaner. The EZ Vac was a great investment and would recommend an auto pool cleaner.

Brushing is relatively easy but I never did brush the pool every week ... not saying not to ... I was/am lazy! :D I will say the more up on pool care you are the better your water will be, including maintaining the pool.
