Brand new Dolphin S300i issues

Bought a brand new S300i Friday after reading great reviews here. Follwed the quick start guide to the letter when I dropped it in the pool Saturday.

First cycle started OK but stopped after the first hour. When I cycle the power it would run for aprox. 30 seconds, moving only backwards then stop. I fussed with the app, switched it to floor only and managed to get a full cycle out of it moving all directions. Sunday morning, it went back to 30 second stints and no ammount of fussing with the app helped. By the way the app is difficult to connect to...

Strangely, I can manually drive it (using the app) in all directions which leads me to think it's a software thing not a hardware issue but what do I know....

I'm taking it back to the dealer tomorrow (which I live almost an hour away from). Any thoughts from the TFP community would be greatly appreciated.

You are doing the right thing. It's their job to fix it not yours. I think you've done your requisite due diligence.
 
My S200 failed within a month or so. I found a local Maytronics repair shop that would fix it under warranty. The pump motor failed. He said it was the first one he has ever had to fix. It has worked fine ever since.
