Hi all
After a trouble free (TM) first season with my pool, I made the mistake of going away for 2 weeks and trusting chlorine management to a family member. Despite what I thought were very clear instructions , I returned home to find that only about 3.5 gallons of chlorine had been used in that time, which is waaaay low for a sunny 2 weeks.
See pictures for current condition of pool. Based on the amount of fresh 12.5% chlorine I added last night and this mornings FC on DPD test it seems like algae but wanted to run it by the experts to be sure.
Currently maintaining appropriate FC level for my CYA, running pump 24/7 and running Dolphin frequently but nothing is getting the yellow Darn off yet, even direct scrubbing. Worth mentioning it’s an older plaster pool and has some rough patches, I suspect this has allowed the algae to grab hold.
Ughhhhhhh
