Averaging 128 oz of Hasachlor 12.5 chlorinator every 2 days or so

Hello!

I've recently started using Hasachlor 12.5% to see how it would compare to the pool Essentials 10%, and I'm not sure if I'm just not understanding the difference between the two, but I can't seem to get the chlorine to 5ppm with the gallon of Hasachlor compared to how I get it with Walmart Essentials chlorine. Are there any benefits in using one rather than the other? It's definitely not the cost.

Am I missing something?

I feel like I'm using what seems like an awful lot of chlorine. Our pool is 18,032 gallons; it's gunite with a pebbletec finish.

• My combined chlorine reading is zero.
• CYA @ 60
• My pool is in the direct, south-Texas sun for probably 12 hours/day with temps of 100+
• I have never seen algae in the pool, and I check the chlorine daily
• I keep pH around 7.6 to 7.8

All guidance and feedback is appreciated.

The 12.5% is 25% stronger than the 10% Pool Essentials and may or may not be a better deal.

On top of that, 12.5% degrades rather quickly and is often times only 11% or 10% by the time it gets added to a pool.

Always check the date code on the box/jug. It'll say 23XXX or XXX23. 23 is 2023 and XXX is the day # it was produced. I use simple math with 30 days per month plus the days in the current month. Aug 16th is 7 full months (210) plus 16 days so it would say 23226 (ish) if it was produced today. You want three months or less, as fresh as possible.

Would be helpful to post up what the current FC reading is and has been for the past few days.
