First full pool season coming to a close. Pool company is coming to close the pool in a few weeks and was wondering if there is any preventative maintaince for the auto cover. I use it as my winter cover and wanted to know if I should lube pulleys, etc. Any help is appreciated.

I'm unaware of any maintenance needs but I don't close my pool so I'm slightly clueless as to how to deal with snow and ice on a cover?
( snow? what's snow?)

I hope one of our northern pool owners with a cover will chime in. i know one in Baltimore uses a separate winter cover and leaves the autocover rolled into the vault.

Make sure you keep the cover pump on and cleared of debris. Check your manual for tips too.

I don't use my autocover to handle the winter protection duties. I use a separate safety cover for this. I know it says you can use the autocover but I think practically speaking, that's a lot of stress to put on the cover. In terms of maintenance, I do most of my maintenance in the spring when I open for the season. I clean the tracks out and lube applicable places. There was some pretty decent instruction in the manual for maintenance duties. Good Luck.
