My pool is cut into a slope 18 inches on one side and about 4” on the other side, would it be necessary to place drain tile before back filling. I’m thinking the weight of the pool and the bottom track being on hard red clay place on pavers it’s really not needed?
If the water runs toward the pool then you will want to divert it away. It is not a good for the metal parts of the pool to be sitting in water from runoff for extended periods of time. You can get french drains and use them to divert the runoff away from the pool. Since you haven't back filled yet they should be pretty easy to install.
