Ants in the pool

Sorry it is an old post, but need help!
I have these "ants" in the pool (full of them see the big ones and small winged) and can't find from where they came from. Not from the deck, so I wonder could they be inground or in the pipes? Need help!!! Thanks!

Nope. Just like noted above they are seasonal. Once or twice a year probably. Just scoop them out for a day or two and you should be good. If you wish to try some of the hacks noted above, that's an option.
 
These ants are the result of mass breading events. Male and female flying ants sent out by the existing colonies to cross bread with neighbouring colonies to start new colonies. They seek high ground to fly away from and the event is timed via environmental triggers so that all colonies within coo wee participate at the same time. There is nothing we can do to prevent it, just cleanup afterwards and remember to get regular pest inspections.

It is possible that the ants from the original 2018 event came from within the enclosure rather than coming from outside and finding a way in.
