Good evening,
I just did an evening brushing of my walls and turned the light on and found it to be a bit cloudy near the light. Is this normal?
Could this be stirred up plaster dust from brushing?
Daily FC loss seems to be consistent and I don’t see any drops overnight that would make me think something brewing.

Last night I had an FC of 8 after a day of swimming in the pool.
This morning FC was 7.5
I dosed this morning to bring her to 8.
When I arrived home from work my FC was at 6
And I dosed to bring it to 9
My test from 30 min ago is FC 9

Your PoolMath logs look great 👍🏻
Not many people can pass the “brush the pool with the pool light on “ test.
Have you ever tried adding de to your sand filter to help with fine debris?
Also, when was the last time u cleaned the light niche?

Thanks, actually no I’ve never read into that. This year for some reason my water just doesn’t have that sparkle that I had last year and my numbers as you said have been looking good. The only thing I didn’t do this year that I did last was that deep cleaning of my sand filter prior to starting the season.

The clarity test is tested best what you did eventhough your numbers are excellent. You can backwash the sand filter then add in DE via the skimmer enough to raise the pressure on the gauge 1 psi up from clean pressure. A cup at a time and then wait a few minutes checking the gauge. Once the it moves 1 psi you're done and just let it ride. It will reach backwash pressure sooner as it traps the small stuff you see in the light but that's what you want.

And I can get DE at the local pool store? Also backwashing only once psi goes up by 10psi?

Sorry, I didn’t read your last question on when was the last time I cleaned the light niche. I just picked up DE today. Actually I’ve never really cleaned behind the light. I’ve taken it out once to replace the bulb but never thought of checking the cavity or that stuff can build up in there until I read some posts on here. Just this past weekend though I thought of sticking my hose in the pool and I sprayed the gun nozzle from the hose between the gap of the light and housing and all this debris shot out 🫣 I’m now in the middle of a slam.

So I went to a local pool store no DE so I got cellulose fiber. DE alternative. Says 3 Lbs of it replaces 25lbs of DE. Should I use this?

Its ok -
Follow this
Backwash when pressure rises 25% over clean pressure- whatever that is for u.

Thanks I was doing some reading on here yesterday evening I’ve opted to return this back to Leslie’s and get actual DE.

Wow, I just exchanged the Leslie’s cellulose for the actual DE. So they had it yesterday but the guy came from the back with their name brand cellulose, smh. Lucky it’s by my job so no biggie to run on my break. Someone was having algae issues an they were selling all this stuff to him my ears were burning.

Before I start adding this DE my clean pressure is 14psi. So I should only backwash when it reaches 24psi correct?
Currently it’s reading 18.5psi so I’ll add the DE until it hits 19.5 psi
