Algae dilemma

Good afternoon,

Just discovered I have a bit of algae on the walls .
One month into spring over here, have been regularly testing chlorine and PH over winter ( every week) and every second week for everything else. There have been no massive swings , no recent rains or anything.

These are my current levels which were taken the day I saw the algae , using an accurate FAS DPD kit I’ve used since my last issue about 9 months ago.

FC 10 CC 0, PH 7.6, CH 250, TA 70, CYA 70 and no phosphates in the pool.

Did an OCLT and it passed with flying colours.

I’m a little perplexed as to how the algae has grown? Any experts that may be able to shed some light?

I know they are unreliable but I even took a sample to water shop for comparison and no glaring issues either.

FC levels and CYA have been consistent and I’ve always maintained the CYA / FC levels , and they have not dropped below the minimum level for the corresponding CYA level.

Prepping for a SLAM now just to knock it on the head

Thank you

No dogs or leaves, no one’s been in the pool. Admittedly I haven’t been scrubbing with a brush as often as I should have been. Filter has been changed over and I’ve just increased the pump run time from 8 hours to 10 hours total

If you have no overnight loss, then it's likely environmental and not algae. (Pollen or such).

1 month into spring is right about the time everything blooms and sheds.

I think you were spot on. I didn’t bother with the slam, green spots haven’t come back, chlorine (7.0) and other levels are steady

Thanks mate
