Alexa Automation for pools or Google Voice control and Automation for pools

Alexa can be your friend for those considering DIY pool automation. Since I am using a leased property it must all be reversible, hence the reason for DIY instead of one of the major pool automation systems.

Alexa controls my Pool light, Spa Light, Spa Blower, Heater and Pool pump with a total cost just under 100.00

Just now adding alexa control for automation of temperature control and Pool and Spa valves.

I use IFTT, Stringify and Zapier to do certain routines and get notifications on my phone.

Currently I am working on a text messaging system that the family can use to send message to pool system to turn on jets, heater, blower etc.

For hardware I am using sonoff switch for lights, Outdoor Smart Plugs for Heater and Blower, and the WiON Outdoor WiFi SMart Box for a total cost of $99.88

I will post a detailed description of my build shortly.. but wanted to get the ball rolling for all you DIY Alexa guys to chime in on your builds.

What have you done with alexa or google voice?

I have Alexa tied into Node Red, which in turn connects to Home Assistant.
Home assistant is running on a pi, and can talk to a couple esp's that control my pool and spa. A Sonoff has an esp inside for its brains, so I'm kind of using a diy sonoff that has more capabilities.
Pool and spa are controlled by a bunch of relays, and I have a couple temp sensors to read water temps.

Since the kids are older and off at school, no one really uses the pool or spa or I'd do more automation.
I can turn on the spa and pool pump with Alexa, but that's about it.
Home assistant and Node Red are setup to run the pumps per a schedule, instead of using a timer.
