The FAS-DPD test uses both a powder and a liquid reagent whereas the DPD uses only a liquid reagent. The big advantage of the FAS-DPD test is that it can read FC levels up to 50 ppm. In contrast, the DPD can read FC levels up to 5 ppm although it can read higher FC levels if you are willing to use diluted water samples. However, doing that can introduce more inaccuracies.
