I've just started using my Turbo Elite 5 burner with a rear rotisserie burner. The instructions with the grill say not to use the main burners when using the rear burner. We used it this weekend and the rear burner worked great. However, I'd like to impart some smoke flavor while using the rotisserie. I know I could use the main burners in an indirect set-up and put a chip box or packet on one of the burners, but I'd like to be able to use the rear burner and still put some heat under a chip packet.
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on using the rear burner and also one of the main burners on a low setting to heat up a chip box or packet?
