I just drained my pool a little in an attempt to lower my CYA. Does Calcium Hypochlorite raise CYA ??? I have 2 packs left of the Robarb Pool Specialties "Power Blast". Ingredients state Calcium Hypochlorite 68%, other ingredients 32%.
Calcium Hypochlorite does not raise CYA. Triclor would from Chlorine Tablets but Cal-Hypo does not.
16k gallon IG, Hayward Super Pump, Polaris Booster Pump, Hayward DE filter, 2 skimmers and a main drain?, 4 returns that I can see, Vinyl liner w/aluminum coping
No. But it will raise the CH. Since you have a vinyl pool, the CH wouldnt be a problem unless it got exhorbitantly high, at which point you stand the risk of calcium precipitation.
